Moog Unit (MU)

« Back to Glossary Index

Moog Unit (MU) is a type of modular synthesizer format that was developed by Moog Music in the 1960s. The MU format uses 1/4-inch jack connectors and a 5U high form factor, making it physically larger than other modular synthesizer formats such as Eurorack.

The format was popular among electronic musicians and sound designers during the 1970s and 1980s, and has experienced a resurgence in popularity in recent years due to its distinctive sound and character.
