Mutable Instruments might be closed, but Émilie’s modules continue to get new features and functionality thanks to the passionate open source community she helped foster. Enter Leandro B and Warps Symbiote: a just-released firmware variant of Warps Parasites with three new algorithms.

Warps Symbiote New Algorithms
Specific detail on the three new algorithms in Symbiote:
- Ladder Filter: ported from an implementation of the improved Moog Ladder Filter
- Dual State Variable Filter: implemented a dual filter based on Emillie’s State Variable Filter
- MI Reverbs: added 4 reverbs based on the implementations found in Rings, Clouds and Elements.
Leandro is very responsive on the r/Modular Warps Symbiote thread and it looks like more good things are planned for the firmware. There’s also great documentation on Electronic Ruminations.
Time to knock the dust off those clones, or your OG Warps, and dial in some digital filter goodness. We’ll get this installed and tested later in the week, hopefully with some sound demos to follow.
